Ninh Binh is among the top 10 least crowded natural wonders in the world.
The Daily Mail calls Ninh Binh Vietnam’s hidden secret, ranking it 4th among the 10 least-visited wonders of the world, based on its beauty and the impression it leaves on visitors.
“With its towering limestone peaks, Ninh Binh offers scenery just as impressive as Ha Long Bay, yet without the crowds of tourists. Located about two hours south of Hanoi, the province is home to numerous rivers, mountains, and temples,” the Daily Mail reported on April 8.
The British newspaper also advises travelers to visit Ninh Binh around October and November, when the river levels rise and the rice fields turn golden during harvest season. Visitors can book the 12-night ‘Landscapes of Vietnam’ tour, which includes two nights in Ninh Binh.

Ninh Binh covers an area of 1,400 km² and is home to many famous sites such as the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital cultural and historical complex, the scenic Trang An – Tam Coc – Bich Dong landscape complex, and the Hoa Lu special-use forest. Among them, Trang An has been recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, making it the first and only mixed World Heritage site in Southeast Asia.
With scenery often described as “picturesque like a painting,” along with many well-known spiritual destinations, unique festivals, and appealing local specialties, Trang An is becoming one of the most worthwhile travel destinations to visit in Vietnam.

This is not the first time Ninh Binh has received praise from international media. The province consistently ranks highly in lists published by many reputable global travel platforms.
Previously, the U.S. website Trips to Discover included Ninh Binh in its list of 14 most attractive destinations in Asia in 2020, while the U.S. travel magazine Travel + Leisure named Ninh Binh one of the 12 most interesting filming locations in Asia in 2022.
Ninh Binh was also the only representative from Vietnam to appear on the list of the 10 most welcoming places in the world, selected by the Traveler Review Awards 2023. In addition, Forbes rated Ninh Binh as one of the 23 best travel destinations in 2023.

Besides Ninh Binh, the top 10 least-visited travel destinations also include other notable places such as the Coral Triangle; the Mayan ruins at Caracol; the Pantanal tropical wetlands in Brazil; Valley of Fire State Park in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; the Namib Desert in Namibia; the port city of Napier in New Zealand; ancient Tibet in China; the Boiling Lake in Morne Trois Pitons National Park on the mountainous Caribbean island of Dominica; and the Kimberley coast in Australia.
